Biography

Prof. O. C. Okeke holds a B.Sc in Geology from University of Ibadan (UI), in 1978 followed by M.Sc in Engineering Geology from University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), in 1983. In addition, Prof. O. C. Okeke obtained a diploma in Hydraulic Engineering (PGD), in 1988 from the Netherland’s Delft University of Technology. Similarly, he holds a PhD in Engineering Geology and Geotechnics from University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), in 2008.

Prof. O.C. Okeke has worked in different places including Bauchi State Water Board and Federal Polytechnic Idah (Kogi State). He joined the Federal University of Technology as a lecturer 1 in 1995 where he grew to become the acting Head of Geology Department in December 2010 – July 2012. In July 2016, he became the Head of Geology Department where he served till June 2018. Prof. O.C. Okeke is a member of several professional bodies and scientific societies such as including Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), Nigerian Society of Engineers, International Association of Hydrological Sciences etc.

His research interest is in Engineering Geology and Geotechnics, Hydraulic/Water Resources Engineering, Rock Mechanics and Environmental Geosciences.
