Biography

Dr I. O. Njoku received a B.Tech degree in Geology from the Federal University of Technology Owerri in 2003, followed by a master’s degree in Petroleum Geology from the University of Port Harcourt in 2009. After postgraduate research at Getamme Geochem Nigeria Limited at the M.Sc level, he joined the company as a graduate assistant geologist. He proceeded for a PhD degree programme in geophysics in Federal University of Technology Owerri in January 2010 prior to joining Shell Petroleum and Development Company Port Harcourt in October 2010 as a research intern. He joined Strata Search Limited in March 2012 as the Structural Lead and has interpreted and supervised a lot of work in Nigeria Agip Oil Company. He later became the Operations Manager in Strata search Limited. He had led the structural / Seismic team in the University of Port Harcourt at Chevron – University Research Development. Also, he is currently a Senior Geo-modeller (Structural, Stratigraphy and Fault Seal Consultant) with First Exploration and Production / GCube Anyala and Madu Fields Project. He is a Senior Geophysicist and Geomodeller (consultant) in C.P.M. Halliburton and Conoil via Substrata Group. He is a member of Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists, American Association of Petroleum Geologists and Society of Exploration Geophysicists. His current interests include fault geometry, strati-structural implications and the sealing behaviour of faults. He is presently a Lecturer I in Geology Department, Federal University of Technology Owerri.
