Biography
Amadi Emmanuel is currently a lecturer at the Department of Information Technology, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO). He holds a B.Eng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi and M.Sc. degrees in Information Technology from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. He also holds a PhD degree in Information Technology with specialization in Network and Cyber Security from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. Amadi Has a strong research interest in game theory application in network/cybersecurity.
Amadi seeks to help young Nigerians harness the power of information technology in developing solutions to the problem faced locally. Amadi has helped to build IT companies like www.specialman.com, www.corasoftltd.com, and www.cresponet.net. Amadi has mentored several applications on the web among which is a school management application currently being used by several schools in Nigeria including Bethel Seminary (www.bethelportal.sch.ng) and Archdeacon Denis Memorial Secondary School (www.egbudiocese.org/adfibss/).
At the Department of Information Technology, Amadi is a leader in Network Administration and Network/cyberSecurity. He is also the leader of the application development club where web applications like the CBT app, Library app and the University Information System app are currently at an advanced stage of development. Amadi anchors the network and cybersecurity challenge series for the department where innovative solutions geared toward combating cyber-crime are being harnessed. Amadi is currently the exam officer of the Department of Information Technology amongst other responsibilities.
Amadi is a registered member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE), a member of IEEE (MIEEE), and a member of the Computer Professionals of Nigeria (MCPN). He is also a Certified Cisco Network Associate (CCNA).
Amadi is proficient in network design and simulation using various simulation applications including GNS3, Opnet, and NS3. Amadi is proficient in Linux operating system and can program using python, C# and C++.
Amadi has participated in the organization of several conferences including the IEEE Nigercon, 2017 conference where he was part of the organizing team and the IEEE Mechatronics conference, 2019 where he was the program chair.
Amadi has training certificates in music (violin, lead guitar and musical software), and is a member of the Tehillah Orchestra group (a classical musical group). He is a Chapter President of the Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship International and a member of the Full Gospel Nigeria National Council. Amadi is also an associate of the Nigerian Fellowship of Evangelical Students (NIFES) where he has chaired several committees.
