Mrs Ugochi Violet Opara was born into a Christian family of late Mr. & Mrs M. E. Njoku. She had her primary and secondary education at Umueze Primary Obiangwu and Secondary Commercial School Obiangwu between 1979 and 1987 respectively. She further acquired her B.Sc. certificate in 1996. She started work in Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State, and currently is with the Department of Architecture.

Mrs Ugochi Violet Opara is married to late Mr Romanus Opara with four children.
