Biography

I was born to the late Mr and Mrs Ogbo Chukwu Ikara of Amata Onicha in Onicha LGA of Ebonyi State by the late sixties. I attended Amainyima Progressive primary school, Umudomi Onicha, Government College Okposi, and later Government College Afikpo. I also attended the University of Nigeria Nsukka both for the B.Sc and M.Sc programmes, and later, the Federal University of Technology, Owerri for the PhD programme.  I served the NYSC at Kaffin Madaki Bauchi State, and later worked with Government College Afikpo as Master 1, before joining Abia State University Uturu as an Assistant  Lecturer, and later, the Federal University of Technology as lecturer 1 where I have risen to the rank of full Professor in 2014. I have served the University in various capacities, HOD, Biochemistry,(2013-2015), Associate Dean, SOBS (2015-2016), HOD, Biology (2018-2019), and is still serving in various committees and panels. I also serve as an external assessor and examiner to some Universities, notably the University of Calabar, University of Nigeria, Abia State University etc. I have completed supervision of five (5) PhD and twelve (12) M.Sc. students. I am a District Pastor with the Deeper Christian Life Ministry and is happily married with children.
