Civil Engineering Department FUTO Bags Award

Civil Engineering Department, School of Engineering and Engineering Technology Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) has won the 1st National Design Competition organized by the Nigerian Institute of Civil Engineers which took place at Cross River State University of Technology, Calabar.
Presenting the Award tagged “Award of Excellence for the outstanding performance at the 1st National Design Competition Between all Civil Engineering Schools in Nigeria,” Acting Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, Engr. Dr J.C. Osuagwu intimated the Vice-Chancellor that the competition was for all the Civil Engineering Schools in Nigeria, and said that FUTO had an edge over others due to hard work and creativity.
He pointed out that the exploits of the students who participated in the competition were indeed a motivation towards maintaining the current administration’s Mantra of “Driving the Culture of Excellence.”
Receiving the Certificate of Award, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Francis C. Eze commended the Civil Engineering Department for its outstanding performance at the competition, stating that he believed the Award came as a result of hard work and motivation. He assured of Management’s continuous support for the Department and the students to enable them to secure their future endeavours.
The Students who participated in the competition were Nwankwo O.J, Nzeadibe S.C, Eko I.S and Nzurumibe C.E.
