Nnanyere Okwunna Aladi holds a PhD degree in Animal Products and Processing and has held a full time faculty position (Lecturer) in the Department of Animal Science and Technology, Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO) since 2009. He is actively researching on the use of bio-processing techniques to add value to animal products and feed raw materials, as well as development of alternative technologies that will reduce feed cost and dependency of food grains for poultry swine feeding in sub Saharan Africa. This drive has led to the development of FERMCARPP – low cost co-fermentation product of grated cassava root and palm kernel cake for replacement of maize in non ruminant diets; okara fortified cassava meals for human and livestock feeding and CHICKLISH – a kilishi like meat cracker from chicken. One of his research paradigms is that ‘one day, we will profitably feed our chickens on straws’. Married with five children
