Biography

An Associate Professor of Financial Management Technology, Dr Aghalugbulam Bonaventure Chidiebere Akujuobi was born to the family of Late Sir &Mrs John O. Akujuobi of Umuejim Amaorie Obibiezena in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. Dr A.B.C. Akujuobi obtained his Bachelors from the University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, majoring in Accounting and then went to the Federal University of Technology Owerri, where he obtained both M.Sc. and PhD degrees in Financial Management Technology.

Dr Akujuobi joined the services of Federal University of Technology Owerri in 2001, where he teaches Accounting, Banking and Finance courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and has published over thirty papers in reputable journals cutting across Accounting, Banking, Finance and Management and also has some textbooks to his credit.

Dr Akujuobi has attended many international conferences. Last year he was at the University of Harvard, Boston, Massachusetts, USA, where he presented a paper titled   “Domestic Debt and Economic Development: Lessons from Nigeria”. In 2013, he was a co-recipient of the “Best Paper Award” in the Finance category, at The International Conference on Economics, Finance and Management Outlook, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

Dr Akujuobi was promoted to the rank of a Reader in 2013 and has since 2016 been awaiting the result of his external assessment for full professorship. He is a fellow of many academic institutes and professional bodies including Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Finance and Investment Analysts of Nigeria, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Risk and Loans Management of Nigeria, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Economists of Nigeria and Fellow, Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria. Dr Akujuobi has produced one PhD student, co-supervised many and supervised many other postgraduate and undergraduate theses. Currently, he holds the position of Deputy Director, FUTO Public Procurement Research Centre and he is also a member of the FUTO Journal series editorial Board.

Dr A.B.C. Akujuobi is happily married to Mrs Ngozi Edith Akujuobi and they have five blessed children.
