I started my career looking into Erythrocytic membrane free energy changes in HIV Patients, where I found out that extra energy is required to restore normalcy in HIV Patients on drugs with elevated free energy. Now my research interest is focused on the evaluation of environmental pollutant using cockroach as an experimental model. The cockroach is the experimental model used in this experiment because the scientist has considered that cockroach will make an admirable substitute for the mammalian model in many biomedical research programs, the reason being that these invertebrates are large, inexpensive, insensitive to pain and the fact that many functional analogues can be made between a cockroach and mammalian system. Cockroaches are also used because of easy accessibility, availability and they are cost-effective. In future, I hope to focus more on the forensic aspect of Biochemistry, where I could match several DNAs hence detecting others.
