Biography

Arinzechukwu Maduabuchi Chidiebere is a lecturer in the Department of Science Laboratory Technology, FUTO. He holds a B. Sc(Hons) degree in Industrial Chemistry from the Imo State University, Owerri, M. Sc and PhD degree in Physical Chemistry from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. He was a Postgraduate (CAS-TWAS) research fellow (2012 – 2013) at the Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang, China. He has made a meaningful contribution to expounding adsorption and corrosion inhibition mechanisms of some organic molecules as well as the application of biomass corrosion inhibitors (BCI) for protection of metals and has over 20 publications in high impact factor journals (https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=wtEZ1XUAAAAJ).

  • Development of environmentally-friendly corrosion inhibitors from plant extracts and its use in controlling microbial induced corrosion.
  • Electrochemical & theoretical investigation of corrosion phenomena in different corrosive environments.
  • Molecular modelling of material behaviour and electronic structure analysis using density functional theory (DFT) and molecular dynamics (MD) simulation.
  • Predicting corrosion inhibition mechanisms of nanocrystalline metals and alloys.
  • Development of smart anticorrosion coatings.
