Biography

Dr A. I. Opara has a B. Tech. in Geosciences (Applied Geophysics option) from Federal University of Technology, Owerri, in 1997. He obtained his M.Sc and PhD in 2003 and 2008 respectively. While his Master’s degree was in the same university, his PhD was from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. He joined Federal University of Technology, Owerri, in 2002 as a Graduate Assistant. Dr A. I. Opara is highly proficient in the interpretation of Potential field data and other software used in the oil and gas industry such as; Logic, Vel2pre, Sipmap, etc. He is a registered member of Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), Council of Mining Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG), Society of Exploration Geophysicist (SEG), Nigerian Association of Hydro Geologist (NAH) and Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE). Dr Opara has published extensively in both local and international Journals. He is currently a Reader in the Department of Geology.
