Remigius Uche fondly and popularly called Remy is a Professor of Mechanical Engineering with a special interest in Industrial and Production Engineering. He holds the Bachelor of Engineering Degree, the Master of Engineering Degree and the Doctoral Degree in Industrial Engineering all from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri. Apart from teaching and research at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, he has actively served the University in different capacities at different units and times. Prominent among those include Member of the 10^th Governing Council (Representing Congregation), Ag. Dean – Student Affairs Unit, Associate Dean – Student Affairs, Ag. Director – Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Office, Head – Department of Mechanical Engineering, Pioneer Member – FUTO International Secondary School Governing Board and currently as the substantive Director of the Public Procurement and Research Centre, FUTO.

Remy is a registered Engineer by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and has served COREN as a member of Council representing the Universities in the South East Geo-political zone. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineering (NSE) and has served in NSE Council as the Owerri Branch Chairman. Remy is a Senior Member of Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), the Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS), Association of Manufacturing Excellence (AME) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

Remy is a member of the Rotary Club of Owerri and has served the Club as President, Secretary and Director in different avenues of service. He is a one-star Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International.

Remy is a member of the Owerri Sports Club as has served the Club as Financial Secretary creditably.

Remy is both Justice of Peace and Jerusalem Pilgrim. He is a Knight of the Ancient Order of St. John International.
